Annual Food Drive
The Civil Service Council will have its annual Spring Drive from March 1-29. Special food and household items will be collected to support the School Street Food Pantry.
Highly requested items include:
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Spaghetti sauce
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Boxed dinners
- Kitchen staples such as vegetable oil, flour, sugar, and spices
- Condiments such as salad dressings
Other needed requests include:
- Gluten-free products
- Hygiene products (soaps, detergents, etc.)
- Feminine products
- Rice and grains
- Vegan/vegetarian proteins
- Shelf stable milks (dairy, soy, almond, coconut)
Opening last fall, the School Street Food Pantry serves area college students. Located at the First United Methodist Church, the pantry is a collaborative effort of Illinois State students and community members.
